Scratch 3.0 is here! This block code program from the MIT Media Lab just got a fresh release with added functionality. We’ll create games and videos while learning universal coding concepts.
Students are able to work at their own pace on individual projects. New learners will be exploring what the codes do and how to use them, while those familiar with the program can increase the level of complexity by creating multiple sprites, multi-level games or longer length explainer videos and using more operators and variables. We will also import graphics and sounds.
Scratch is so much fun, kids will have no idea they are learning how to think logically and learning how to create algorithms. Each Scratch sprite (character) represents a different processing thread. While students are interacting with this easy-to-use click-and-drag program, they’re actually learning about threads, loops, subroutines, variables, input and output.
* In the case of a snow cancellation, a class will be rescheduled on April 10.
