We’ll build the drones and learn how to fly them with an app, and learn the principles behind multirotor flight, including gyroscopes and motor speed control. Then we’ll start programming our drones for complex maneuvers with the built-in click-and-drag programming language. Students also can redesign the drones, reposition the motors, turn them into hovercraft, cars, spinning tops and experiment with design process engineering. Using a block-code editor we’ll create buttons for our controllers and program subroutines. This is an exciting intro to coding with immediate physical feedback. Parts are made from rigid styrofoam and attach with magnets, making this a safe and rewarding build.
