Hands-On Physics!

This summer we debuted a physics class for elementary students and ran it as a camp. Our goal was to introduce them to the most important physics principles in a way that was fun and would resonate with them. Goal accomplished! We threw out laws and asked who believed them to be true. Often the group was divided. Then we did experiment after experiment, changing some minds, and a few times blowing their minds (force fields are real!)

This type of programming is hard to find, so Clark took the lead in designing it. His masters in physics from Yale came in handy!

We’ll be offering this again as an ongoing class running Mondays after school from September 17 through December. More info on that here.
